The desert is a wash with a glories river, burning ambers and expressions of praise. Transformation is inevitable with revelations of kingship authority. We can see Him again, His love and His lordship. Crowned with many crowns is my Love.

Prepare for impact in every moment.

The reality is this isn’t just a future thing it’s available now. There’s two dynamics here, the impact on you and the glory reveled to God. Like when a bride gets married there is the dynamic of name change, co-habitation, united assets and the such but the bride is also an expression of the grooms glory.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.

So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself; for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, because we are members of His body.

FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.

This mystery is great; but I am speaking with reference to Christ and the church.33 Nevertheless, each individual among you also is to love his own wife even as himself, and the wife must see to it that she respects her husband.
Eph 5:25-33

There is a real dynamic here of Christ caring for His church.

Let’s look at the description of how a husband is to be with his wife and keep in mind this is what Christ wants to be in relationship with us.

First there is the reality of love. For God so loved the world He gave His Son. Then the Son responded with giving His life up because He loved us. There was a flow of love that compelled sacrifice.

This love is transforming

This action of sacrifice was to transform us into a bride, a glorious bride. What dose this transformation look like? What kind of change can we expect?

This verse describes the transformation as “so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, that He might present to Himself the church in all her glory, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy and blameless.”

Washed by speaking His heart to us

So how does He do this transforming. The text here says He “cleansed her by the washing of water with the word”. He cleanses us by talking to us, sharing His heart.

How does this washing of His word look like?

So is this reading the scripture? Is this how He washes us? Did Christ die that we might be able to read scripture? Is this what is being expressed here or is it more than this?

It’s true that the scripture is veiled to those who do not believe, so greater revelation comes from Christ. Is this what is being said here?

To help us realize what this washing looks like and the communication Jesus died (yes literally died) to give us, lets look at rhēma used for “word”. Rhēma means an utterance, to speak. This isn’t Christ giving His life so we could have the scriptures only, but that we can hear His voice. For He says that my sheep know my voice. The scriptures draw us to Christ and then we have fellowship. We receive His Spirit. His Spirit is also called the Spirit of prophecy. His voice, out of the abundance of his heart, spoken over us.

Conversational relationship

This is why Christ died. This is what motivated God. Open communication. To hear the Spirit in us crying “Abba Father”.

So it’s communication Christ uses to wash us. The more we recognize His voice and know what He is saying it opens this relationship and increases our love, trust and freedom to be sanctified by Him. It set’s an environment to realize all we need is Him.
